If true, that's great background noise cancellation. They were convinced the webinar was ruined until they asked an attendee later if they heard the garbage truck. One person said they did a webinar where a garbage truck pulled up right next to the window. The reviews by people who said they used it for webinars caught my eye.

There are versions with a 3.5mm plug or a USB plug, so make sure to double-check to get the type of connection you want.Įxecutive Pro Overture Premium Binaural Noise-Canceling Corded USB Headset - I came across this headset while searching on Amazon. Sennheiser is a reputable brand, as far as I know. Although I wonder if they're fake reviews planted by the manufacturer. Sennheiser SC 75 USB - I saw some comments on the Wirecutter raving about this headset. Jabra UC 550 Duo - This was the Wirecutter's previous headset pick. Other headset models that are more compact and portable: On the other hand, I think the big over-ear ear cups are more comfortable to wear for longer periods. It's bulky, which is not convenient for traveling. Yeah, I have mixed feelings about the MSI DS502/Etekcity H7PX headset.

I'm looking for something smaller and less gamerish. Would also like to try out the Plantronics Voyager Focus UC, but not had a good excuse to buy a set. There are some 3rd party mics from Headset buddy that I would like to try but the shipping from the US to UK is too much. I have a set of Bose QC25 and whilst the noise cancellation on the earphones is top notch, the mic is bloody awful and picks up all the noise in the room. My colleagues in another office have Jabra Evolve 65, they are pleased with them but speaking as the person on the other end of the call I am not sure that the microphones on those cut out as much background noise as the Evolve 80 (either that or their office is entirely too noisy) The mics on those were imho even better at cutting out background noise, but the earpieces are smaller on ear ones and so the noise cancellation is far less effective for the wearer. We also tried out the Plantronics Blackwire 725. The (passive?) noise cancellation on the mic is pretty good for use in a noisy office and the active noise cancellation on the earphones is very good indeed, helped by the ear cups being fully over each, so cutting out a lot of background noise.ĭownsides are that the over ear design does get a bit hot, and one of the team finds them too tight on his head. We tried a few out before buying a set for our dev team.
